I think I made an assumption on the bread being home made. It didn't taste store bought. I should have verified this. I know what you mean about it being a dichotomy. It seems that the food is wasted in a bar. Not that I have a problem with bars, but it just seems limiting to the audience it would otherwise get.

Jimmy's is an interesting dichotomy. I've also written about them on my blog. On the one hand, you are absolutely right about the pasta ... homemade and excellent. It was truly the highlight of my meal. The bread was also good, but according to the server I had when I went, while it was made locally, it wasn't in-house. I also agree with Jen, the red wine vinaigrette was seriously lacking.

For me Jimmy's is one of those places that I don't think I'd find myself going out of my way to get back to, but if I happened to be in the area or a friend suggested going there, I wouldn't be upset to return.
