Back when Guzzardi’s opened, North Canton was a dry town. There were no liquor licenses available. Back when I lived in Stark County it was my favorite restaurant.

Unfortunately, I only make down to Canton once or twice a year now so it is pretty rare that I can go there.

@paus…well it’s not a sacrilidge to not have wine with italian food, especially if you’re not a drinker, which I and my family are not. Believe it or not it actually IS possibloe to enjoy a good meal WITHOUT and alcohol whatsoever! Good food, good service, GREAT prices! Can’t ask for much more than that!

P.S. This IS NOT the type of Italian restaurant that would serve wine, that’s a liquor license that would have to be obtained and that’s a HUGE pain.

Food is good, but how can you eat Italian without a nice glass of red wine to round out the meal? That is sacrilidge in my book. An italian restaurant without a wine selection? Just plain crazy!

The picture says it all: mounds of pasta, bland red sauce, and mass produced white cheese masking as mozzarella. Negative 5 stars.

Thanks Kathy! I agree, Mama Guzzardi’s was good food and just an overall enjoyable atmosphere to dine at. I can’t think of any other restaurant I’ve enjoyed that much recently. If you have any other favorites I’d love to hear them.

Love Mama Guzzardi’s!!! It’s one of my family’s favorite restaurants in town. Look forward to reading more posts.
